A Case Study Of STEM Extension Curriculum Development In Junior High School

STEM education is still in its infancy in China,and many places are actively exploring ways to implement STEM education.The extended curriculum advocated by Zhejiang Province in the curriculum construction of compulsory education provides a suitable course carrier and development space for STEM education.The junior high school STEM expansion course studied in this paper is a kind of curriculum project with the characteristics of STEM education and extended curriculum in this context.This paper aims to reveal the feasible strategies for the development and implementation of junior high school STEM extended courses through case studies of junior high school STEM extended courses,and try to construct a junior high school STEM extended curriculum development model.In order to achieve this goal,this paper combs the connotation and attribute characteristics of STEM education and expansive curriculum,discusses the basic implementation and procedural links of expansive curriculum development,and establishes the STEM extended curriculum analysis framework.On this basis,the target positioning,content integration,implementation process and evaluation methods of the “Save Water Resources” STEM expansion course development case were analyzed,and the questionnaire implementation research and data analysis were carried out on the implementation and effect of the course.Then,based on the analysis and research conclusions of the course case,this paper puts forward the strategy suggestion for the development and implementation of the STEM extended course,and attempts to construct the development model of the junior high school STEM extension curriculum.I hope that the research and exploration of this paper can provide useful ideas and strategies for the development of junior high school extension curriculum and STEM education in China.
