| Tennis, originated in France, became popular all over the world in the 20 th century because of its beautiful and fun nature. And it remains widely popular among contemporary college students.Today, with continuous progress of the society, college students are required to have a variety of skills to meet the needs of social development, which makes learning tennis efficiently an urgent problem.Prediction is a core ability in tennis skill learning, which could be improved through purposeful and systematic teaching. This study focused on differences in perceptual prediction of interception between tennis experts and beginners, identifying major factors contributing to experts' successful prediction. The conclusion shall further lead to constructive guidance for beginners in terms of the impact of spatial masking training on improving beginners' prediction abilities of interception. In this study, literature, expert interviews, experiments, mathematical statistics and other research methods are used, and the following two studies are designed: Study 1combined ERP technology to explore differences between tennis players of different levels in perceptual prediction, designed as a mixed experiment of 5 spatial masking parts(no masking, racket, arm, torso, lower limbs)× 2 subject types(beginner, expert),of which spatial masking is a variable within the subjects, and subject type is a variable between the subjects. The dependent variables include accuracy, response time,as well as the latency and amplitude of related ERP components(P1,N1,P300).Study 2 explored the effect of spatial masking on prediction ability of tennis beginners, adopting the design of 2 groups(experimental group, control group)×3 testing nodes(preexperiment,mid-experiment,post-experiment).In this experiment, time is the variable within the subjects, and the experimental group and the control group are variables between the subjects. The dependent variables include accuracy, response time and subjective experience(including positive well-being,psychological distress and fatigue). The following conclusions are drawn:(1)For both experts and beginners, the spatial masking part affects their prediction;racket and arm have the greatest impact on perceptual prediction, which are the key parts to predict the interception.(2)With spatial masking, experts display distinct advantages over beginners in response time and accuracy of perceptual prediction.(3)Experts invest less psychological resources in the prediction process, with faster target recognition and code activation. They are able to allocate cognitive resources more reasonably, and are better at information integrating and processing.(4)Spatial masking method can help beginners master productive search strategy, significantly reduce response time without hurting accuracy, and thus improve perceptual prediction of interception for beginners.(5)The positive feedback of spatial masking method increases the students' enthusiasm for learning. |
