With the advancement of the core literacy of information technology disciplines, computational thinking as an important part of it must become the focus of information technology education researchers.Among them, the lack of computational thinking skills assessment research will also become the focus of scholars' research. Therefore, this article will focus on the study of the computational thinking skills assessment of students in the compulsory education stage, and mainly do the following work.First, based on the analysis of the level of computational thinking skills in primary and secondary schools, the content of information technology subjects in the compulsory education stage, and the analysis of Baibosi's evaluation of computational thinking skills, the author compiled the test paper for this study.Through multiple predictions and revisions, the test papers for this study were finally determined.Second, this study selects primary and junior high school students in a city as the evaluation object, conducts formal tests, and processes and analyzes the data obtained from the tests.Thirdly, according to the results of data analysis, the students 'calculation thinking skill levels at each stage of education are obtained, and combined with the current domestic actual situation, suggestions for improving the students' calculation thinking skills level in China are given.Through testing,we have concluded that: First,in the compulsory education stage, the majority of students' computational thinking skills are not ideal, and the level of students varies greatly. From the perspective of each skill dimension, the abstract skills dimension of elementary school students performs well, and the junior high school students perform well in terms of decomposition skills dimension.Second,in the compulsory education stage, there is no significant difference between gender and computational thinking skills, but the level of computational thinking skills of boys in primary school is higher than that of girls, and that of girls in junior high school is higher than that of boys. From the perspective of each skill dimension, the skill level of girls in junior high school has improved faster than that of boys.Third,in the compulsory education stage, school locations and computational thinking skills are significantly different, and the level of computational thinking skills of urban students is higher than that of township students. From the perspective of each skill dimension,at the elementary school level, the general skill levels of urban and township students are basically the same, without significant differences. The remaining four skill levels of urban students are higher than that of townships, and there are significant differences;at the junior high school level, cities The level of each skill dimension of students is higher than that of township students, and there are significant differences. Therefore,we believe that in the stage of compulsory education, the improvement of students' computational thinking skills must pay attention to not only the differences caused by the differences between urban and rural areas, but also the normalization of information technology courses and the standardization of content.Fundamental to ensure that computational thinking skills are generally improved.Specific to the teaching level,it is necessary to go deep into each dimension and train targeted design tasks in different categories in order to improve the orderly improvement of each dimension of computational thinking.
