The purpose of this study is to examine the use of social media,especially the Facebook use by the Public Relations Communication Department at Herat University in the west of Afghanistan.To achieve this its objectives are;Access to the measure and the function of Herat University's PR department regarding the use of Facebook for informing the students,teachers,partner organization,public,and alumni based on the principles of Public Relations,according to C.V.Narasimha Reddi;Besides those;Access to Herat University' s PR department Facebook page posts per week for students directly,and Access to Herat University's PR department Facebook contents analyses for-30days are the most significant approach in this study.The research design will be a descriptive survey,which took a mixed approach employing both qualitative and quantitative.The research methods will be a case study survey.Data collected through questionnaires,Data content analyzing,open polls and focus group with students at school of journalism and mass communication in Herat University,teachers,journalists and media managers,partners,Public Relations practitioners,and publics.As most of the students,staff and the audiences use Facebook an easy platform,I choose it as leading the main platform used at Herat University.In this research,based on Morgan Formula,questionnaires are going to be distributed to 377 students from a total of 17086,currently students at Herat University,Herat Province in the west of Afghanistan.
