After the Opium War,Chinese martial arts began a new transformation of modern martial arts in the process of mutual exclusion and mutual penetration with Western sports.In this regard,in the context of combining contemporary cultural consciousness and cultural self-confidence,how to find the experience beneficial to the development of contemporary school martial arts courses from historical development is the starting point of this article.This article focuses on the critical period of the modern transformation of martial arts,namely the Republic of China.Starting from the reform of the educational system at the end of the Qing Dynasty and the beginning of the Republic of China,with the clues of issuing and implementing martial arts-related education policies and documents during the Republic of China period,the changes and characteristics of the Wushu curriculum during the Republic of China period were traced back and analyzed.The research results are as follows:First,the physical education curriculum standards issued during the years of the Republic of China all involved martial arts,but martial arts did not show their edge in the school curriculum as expected.They were only used as electivecourses and the credits were relatively small,and were not occupied in the school curriculum Certain status,but left an indelible figure in the history of Chinese martial arts education.Second,after incorporating martial arts into the school curriculum system,the characteristics of martial arts curriculum structure from singularity to randomization and tending to be rationalized are the characteristics of the stage of the continuous development of martial arts curriculum during the Republic of China period.In the course setting,from the initial transformation of the group's physique to the basic functions,and then to the goal of protecting the country and the species,it means to realize the "solid national" through martial arts and enhance the "inherent national spirit".Third,the school,as the main field for recreating the "new people",is following the western school sports model.In the face of the "cultural crisis",the martial arts curriculum development has a "sport" value appeal.In terms of teaching methods,teachers' sources,teaching Significant changes have taken place in methods and textbook preparation.These changes have provided strong support for the successfuldevelopment of the school's martial arts education.It is a series of reforms made by the social elite and martial artists to the martial arts education method according to the development demands of the martial arts under the social changes and national needs.Fourth,the existence and development of Chinese martial arts courses are the inevitable times of modern and contemporary curriculum transformation.In the face of foreign cultures,the martial arts curriculum also bears the mission of national cultural identity.Wushu has a certain strengthening effect on the national cultural identity,and it is also one of the ways for the national culture to be protected and inherited.
