With the continuous development of China's economy and society and the transformation and upgrading of industrial structures,the tourism and hospitality industry as modern services industries,are bound to obtain unprecedented opportunities of development,which on the one hand provides sufficient employment market and development space for hospitality management students;On the other hand,puts forward higher requirements for the cultivation of hospitality management professionals.Some existing researches show that the brain drain of the hospitality industry is serious and there is certain gap between the hospitality industry demand for talents and the current hospitality management education.Besides,there are different needs and differences among the career expectations of the hospitality industry students for the work of hotels,that of the hotel industry for graduates of this major and that of the educators of this major for the graduates.All these problems severely challenge education of hospitality management in secondary vocational school.In this paper,hospitality industry students and employees in hotel industry are taken as the main research objects.Methods such as literature analysis,questionnaire survey,in-depth interview and mathematical statistics are used to conduct an analysis of differences in the career expectations of the interviewed students and hotel staff.The results reveal that there were differences existing in students' expectations of entering the hospitality industry.The cognition of hospitality environment is different between the students and the hotel managers.Also the students' cognition of the needs of hospitality industry differ from that of the hotel staff.Besides,there are significant differences between the students and hotel staff.The results also show that there are no difference between hotel staffs' and students' cognition of the internship and education background.Based on the difference analysis of the issues above,in order to help students establish a proper professional awareness and a reasonable career planning and to reduce employee turnover,some improvement measures and suggestions are put forward on optimizing personnel training programs,setting correct employment viewpoints,improving the status of service industry,increasing the employees' sense of belonging,changing career roles,strengthening students' comprehensive quality and abilities and the staff construction of teachers,keeping close contact with the industry,perfecting internship process,heightening the internship,strengthening vocational psychological education,satisfaction and fostering the students' ability of anti-pressure.
