The importance and applicability of probability and statistics have become more and more obvious with the arrival and development of the era of big data.Discrete random variables as part of the important knowledge have naturally received extensive attention.This paper explores the current situation of discrete random variables from teaching,learning and examining perspective in high school through educational science research and put forward relevant suggestions,in order to bring some help to the frontline educators.Based on the literature review of relevant educational theories and policies,the paper uses research methods of questionnaires,interviews and other methods to study and analyze the current situation of teaching,learning and examination of high school discrete random variables.The results show that:(1)Teaching status of high school discrete random variables: At present,there is still room for improvement in the knowledge literacy of high school teachers;teaching methods are too traditional and rigid;teachers have fear of discrete random variables.(2)Learning status of high school discrete random variables: Firstly,their comprehension of the relevant concepts:(1)about 70% of students can understand the concept of discrete random variables;(2)only a small number of students really grasp the characteristics of the binomial distribution,and accurately distinguish between the two distributions;(3)Most students only pay attention to calculations.Students do not realize what the expected value is in the actual problem;(4)Nearly half of the students(46.83%)cannot realize the effect of variance in the actual problem.Secondly,in addition to conceptual understanding,students' self-learning attitude is not correct enough.In addition,reading comprehension in the process of learning discrete variables and related content has been greatly hindered.(3)The current situation of the examination of discrete random variables: The author expounds the status quo of the examination from the four aspects of the structure,background,knowledge and ability.The author also predicts the trend of the investigation of the discrete random variables of the mathematics college entrance examination in the future.In response to the above questions,suggestions are proposed.In the end,this paper gives the summary and prospect,proposes the shortcomings and the direction of further research.
