Social Work Intervention Of Deviant Behavior Of Vulnerable Children

In 2016,the State Council issued “the opinions on strengthening the security work for vulnerable children”,in which proposes to ensure the survival and development rights and interests of vulnerable children,establish and improve the security work system for them,and support social workers to provide professional services for the special group.In order to ensure the healthy growth of vulnerable children,China has constantly strengthened the exploration of the protection of vulnerable children,called on all sectors of society to care for the physical and mental health development of those children,and create a good social atmosphere for them.In recent years,the services provided by social welfare organizations in the field of children have achieved good social benefits,which plays a positive role in promoting the healthy development of children.In this study,the author chooses Xiaolin as the research object.Xiaolin is a vulnerable child in Xiushui County,Jiangxi Province,who has such deviant behaviors as timidity,behavior isolation and poor academic adaptability.The main reasons for the deviant behaviors of Xiaolin are lack of family and peer group support,estrangement between teachers and Xiaolin,poor academic performance and self cognition deviation.Based on the theory of "person-in-situation" and social support theory,this paper uses literature research,interview and participation observation to collect relevant data,deeply understand the psychological state and living environment of Xiaolin,and intervene the deviant behavior of him through the case work of psychosocial treatment mode and the group work of development mode.The case work includes: helping to strengthen and improve the communication between Xiaolin and his family;improving the relationship between him and his teachers;adjusting Xiaolin's self-awareness and building up interpersonal confidence.Group work includes: "meeting is predestination",let Xiaolin and his peers establish group contract;" Family loving each other",strengthen interaction between Xiaolin and activity members,so as to obtain emotional support from his peers;"we are all good friends",to help Xiaolin learn to know himself correctly and build up self-confidence in interpersonal communication;"be the master of emotions",cultivate his interpersonal communication ability;" where there is a will,there is a way ",stimulate Xiaolin's potential to resist the pressure of predicament.Through the case study of Xiaolin,this paper finds that social work intervention in the correction of children's deviant behavior is effective.In addition,in view of this problem,this paper puts forward corresponding suggestions from two aspects: the rectification of vulnerable children's deviant behavior and the care for the special group.In the aspect of rectifying the deviant behaviors of vulnerable children,this paper puts forward the following two suggestions.First,in the process of rectifying,the factors of poverty should not be ignored,so as to avoid the deviant behaviors such as inferiority and timidity caused by poverty to children.Second,the role of the family should not be ignored.On the one hand,the stronger the attachment of children to their parents,the less likely the deviant behavior will occur;on the other hand,children can get a sense of security through close connection with their parents,so as to avoid such deviant behaviors as timidity and withdrawal.Finally,this paper puts forward the following countermeasures and suggestions to strengthen the care of vulnerable children: first,to create a good atmosphere for the whole society to care for vulnerable children;second,to strengthen social support for those children;third,to enhance the resilience of them.
