In the 1920 s,the development of the national revolution made guangzhou the center of the national revolution and the forerunner of the women's liberation movement.In 1927,the China newspaper founded in guangzhou liwan district,by 1931,becomes guangdong's largest newspaper.this article through to the Chinese newspaper in a large number of social news for research on women,to explore the image,it presents how to female media and analyze the cause of its formation,their women's social life during the period of the Republic of China.This paper takes the female social news reports of yuehua daily from 1929 to 1936 as the research samples.From the perspective of social history of news,this paper adopts content analysis method and text analysis method to study the samples and analyze the female media images presented by yuehua daily.The first chapter is the introduction,which introduces the research origin,research significance,research status and research methods.In chapter two,the general situation of the newspaper industry in guangzhou and the basic situation of the yuehua news are sorted out to lay the foundation for the following.The third chapter takes women's news reports as the starting point,carries out statistical analysis on the reports from a macro perspective,including reporting tendency,reporting topics,reporting age,etc.,and forms quantitative data analysis.Combined with the text analysis,this paper interprets women's news reports from three aspects: report title,discourse style and reporting technique,paving the way for the following female media images.Based on the quantitative analysis in chapter three,chapter four divides the female media images constructed by yuehua news into three categories,namely women in traditional marriage and family,female students/teachers pursuing free love,and women pursuing career paths.The fifth chapter explores the reasons behind the formation of female media images.First,under the background of the interweaving of new and old thoughts,it is difficult for women to break through the oppression of old ethics and old thoughts,resulting in various tragedies of women.Secondly,the commercial orientation of the paper media and the relatively loose news censorship system enable a large number of social news to be published,and the newspapers write freely.Finally,a good relationship with the police gave the yuehua newspaper a privileged source of news,much of it about adultery,suicide and divorce.
