The Design And Implementation Of The Unified Digital Set Top Box System

With the development of digital TV,digital set-top box has been applied to thousands of households as the home terminal.The regional digital TV operators,digital TV front-end system in different regions is under the unified standard,but individual rules are different,resulting in the digital set-top box in different regions by the regional restrictions which version are not the same.The task of this paper is through the design of compatibility of digital TV front-end system and set-top box terminal,realize the different areas of a unified version of the digital set-top box,is of great significance to the set-top box market scale development.This thesis first analyzes the status and development of digital TV and digital set-top boxes,introduces relevant standards and techniques of digital television system,and in different regions of digital TV front-end electronic program guide(referred to as:EPG)system and the conditional access system(referred to as:CAS)the function of difference analysis the design requirements,based on digital TV front-end compatible EPG system design and function,EPG Descriptor Definition,regional differences of extensible markup language(referred to as:XML)file definition,as well as functional design and compatibility development of digital set-top box EPG and CA module,completed the design and Implementation of the unified digital the set-top box system.During the thesis work,the overall function of the unified digital set-top box system was tested through the actual network environment,and all functional test results were passed,further verifying the feasibility of the scheme.
