The transformation and upgrading of Chinese society and rapid changes have given birth to the generalized anxiety of the society,making it an unavoidable social mentality in China.The social public events and mass incidents resulting from have aroused concern.the new media technology,as an indispensable force of change in present-day Chinese society,has become the inherent traction that affects the social psychology and the social transformation development.The new media dissemination has provided a dominant expression path for the seamless embedding of people's lives and precisely the implicit social anxiety.It has become a process of social emotion generation,expression and cultural accumulation,which affects the steady development of society.Therefore,it is one of the important dimensions to grasp the change of social mentality in the contemporary era of media society,and it is also an indispensable factor for maintaining social harmony and promoting economic development.Based on the theory of Media Effect and Social Anxiety,this study conducts large-scale field research on the first,second,third and fourth urban youth groups in Guangzhou,Hangzhou,Nanchang and Jiujiang etc.Youth group(which refers to the rich knowledge and using flexible media called 80's 90's)as the main research object.Using SPSS statistical software,the collected data are summarized,descriptive analysis and correlation analysis In-depth interview discourse text analysis presents the real facets of current social anxiety,combs the underlying causes of social anxiety and the possible social crisis,and providing a new vision and path to grasp changes in social mentality.Through the research,it founds that the audiences have widespread instrumental dependence and emotional dependence on the new media,which is also the basis for anxiety.This mentality and emotional orientation have a profound impact on the audiences represented by the youth groups:the flood of information has given rise to cognitive anxiety and the "hot quick effect" of the exchange of new media emotions.Wandering leads to identity anxiety.And the above anxiety and the audience's"education level","income and class cognition","age and sense of belonging to home" and other factors are closely related.In this process of catalyzing germinal development,they further accumulate and spread through the alienation of social public events and the awakening of the sense of emotional loss in the new media platform,forming a "media effect" that belongs to the era of new media.
