In the 21 st century,mankind has entered a new era of electronic information.Semiconductor technology with integrated circuits as its core is the cornerstone of the electronic information industry and a strategic industry related to the national economy and national security.The price of memory chips has tripled in recent years,and a large domestic communication equipment manufacturer has repeatedly been restricted from exporting chips and related technical services by the United States,and it is unable to ship any electronic equipment,resulting in heavy losses.Our country has listed ICs as a priority industry.Integrated circuit testing technology and integrated circuit design and integrated circuit manufacturing technologies are key technologies in the integrated circuit industry.With the rapid development of the industry,the cost of the test technology has become higher and higher throughout the entire process,and its importance has become higher and higher.How to efficiently and cost-effectively complete the testing of integrated circuits has become a trend for many chip manufacturers in recent years.This article comes from a commercial project of an intern company.With high efficiency and low cost as the guide,it designed and implemented a PMIC automation test platform.The platform includes an EVB evaluation board that carries the PMIC,a host computer software,and A set of external test equipment instruments.The platform controls the external test equipment and PMIC through the host computer software,which can realize the automated testing of the PMIC performance evaluation,saves a lot of labor costs and time costs,and brings good economic benefits to the company.The main contents of this paper are:1.The development board EVB for evaluation test is designed for PMIC.Considering that the test platform not only tests this chip,but also tests other types of PMICs,the daughter board and mother board design concepts are innovatively introduced.The motherboard is a general-purpose development board,which consists of a large number of input and output channels and connectors.The daughter board is a dedicated board.It is developed for a specific chip.The daughter board and the motherboard are connected through a high-performance connector.This makes the test more standardized,making the sub-board layout more compact,PMIC performance to play the best,and reducing the time required to replace the test board to re-build the environment,more efficient.2.Developed a set of upper computer software,which is written in open source and powerful Python,can communicate with external instruments and devices to achieve test operations,and can also communicate with the PMIC carried by the development board to change its function and status.The host computer software has a friendly user interface,integrated PMIC chip driver,IIC adapter driver,a variety of test equipment,such as software drivers.The upper computer software uses Python's powerful open source features,and has obtained strong support for PyVISA,PyQt4,and other library files.This reduces the development difficulty on one hand and shortens the development cycle.On the other hand,Python's object-oriented and class inheritance features are also The reuse of code is enhanced to facilitate the support and expansion of more devices and chips,bringing unlimited possibilities for more complex testing.3.Build the entire test platform,write test cases for each test item of the PMIC and complete the actual test.Test items include more important items such as power conversion efficiency,load regulation,ripple voltage,load regulation,and IIC interface performance,or projects that are more efficient and efficient than automated tests.After some problems were found in the actual measurement,an optimization algorithm was added to improve the testing process and achieve an ideal test result.Finally,compared with the manual test,the automated test platform is far ahead of the test efficiency and has achieved the goal of developing an automated test platform.
