Emotion Communication And Guidance In Online Protest

In China,the online protest follows the emotional mobilization logic.The applying of emotion in collective contests,plays an important role in the mobilization to arouse the public's anger and promote public interests expression.Exploring the function mechanism of the netizens' mood in the communication momentum,public opinion,and the formation of fighting words,has important research significance for effectively using emotions for the correct public opinion guidance and management,as well as for effectively protecting the government's credibility and the judicial authority.The study chooses the case of Luxian student's falling dead case which happened on April 1,2017 as an example,combined with empirical research methods of content analysis and case analysis,through analyzing and organizing the weibo samples in the most intensive nine days of the event's public opinion,and combing the progress in context and key nodes of the case,found the evolution process and the function logic of emotion in online contests,and thus put forward some reflection on the emotion communication and guidance.The study found that,in online contests,netizen's emotion's evolution process from detonating to infection to polarization and finally to recession,follows the following logic:(1)the moral shock activate individual mood;(2)prototype narrative triggers social emotional resonance;(3)network situation contributed to emotional polarization;(4)information release and agenda transferring dissolve risk.Based on the "from the perceptual to the rational" evolution trend of the network fight sentiment,and the understanding of Chinese unique emotional logic,the study made some extensive reflection on the emotion guidance:(1)media should shoulder the social responsibility,by doing a good job in information transmission,public opinion supervision,and emotion guidance;(2)government and judicial authorities should timely response to grasp the initiative of public opinion guidance;(3)opinion leaders such as Big V should give full play to positive emotion guidance,and beware of becoming negative emotions booster;(4)the public should enhance the emotional control ability in post-truth era,and rationally treat public hot spots.
