With the development of society,the Requirements and expectations of people on the mobile communication technology are increasingly high.Mobile fading channel characteristics and knowledge is the foundation to update the research of communication technology and communication system.The Two-Wave with Diffuse Power(TWDP)distribution is different from the traditional description of a channel distribution model.The characteristics of TWDP channel such as its two specular path,deterministic simulation process especially its second order statistics are all lack deep research currently.Therefore,the research and analysis of TWDP fading channel and its second order statistics will expand the classical channel theoretical.And this channel model will be promoted to exert the value of its application.This paper introduces the research background and signification at first.And next the basic concepts and research directions of mobile fading channel are introduced.And that make it clear that the direction of this study belongs to the small scale analysis of frequency-nonselective fading channel.Further,two classic channel models that Rice channel and Rayleigh channel related to this research direction are introduced.They leads to the description of TWDP fading channel model.Through the analysis of the probability density function(PDF)of TWDP distribution,the difference between the traditional channel model and TWDP channel model is explained.Then this paper do the research of parameter estimation method of TWDP channel model.The implementation of TWDP simulation process and the second order statistical properties of TWDP process are also studied in this paper.Most of these belong to the research of the basic theory of communication channel,and they are also the main innovations of this paper.They are listed as follows:(1)The parameter estimation method of measured data for the TWDP channel model is studied and given.This method provide a way for applying this channel model to measured data.The validation of measured data in the marine environment also indicates that this channel model is indeed more practical in some environment.(2)Through the analysis of the reference model of PDF for TWDP channel model,the implementation structure of TWDP simulation process is determined.And the deterministic simulation process of TWDP channels is established by sum-of-sinusoids(SOS)model.The simulation process of channel model can be used to study the statistical properties of the channel model.According to this simulation process,the simulation model of PDF and CDF for TWDP channel model is given.The simulation model can be used to analyze the relationship between the performance of the simulation process and the number of the simulator.(3)The second order statistical properties of TWDP process is studied in this paper.The second order statistics mainly include Level-Crossing Rate(LCR)and Average Duration of Fades(ADF).Both the reference model and the simulation model of LCR and ADF for TWDP fading channel is deduced.The second order statistical properties of a channel model can reflect its dynamic characteristics,which has important application in the optimization of the channel coding and decoding scheme to reduce the bit error rate.
