The proliferation of symbols in modern society has elevated vision from many senses,so many scholars refer to modern society as the visual age.But in fact, the arrival of modernity has also changed the natural sound environment of classical society, placing modern people in awkward environment.Along with the post-modern space turn, people who are gradually waking up in their subjectivity have begun to actively use sound technology to gain control of their hearing. The use of headphones is the most common form of auditory privatization in daily life. This study used questionnaires to understand the specific use of headphones, and found that headphones have become a very important hearing tool in people's daily lives. Then through text analysis and semi-structured interviews, the author explores the individual practice behaviors of the headset users in daily life:using scenes, reasons, playing roles, etc.,based on the auditory experience of micro-subjects in post-modern space, explores the inherent needs behind the use of headphones. And the connection between hearing and social relationships. The article extends Hall's "culture cycle" theory, starting from the subjective experience in the use of headphones, based on the five elements of characterization and identity, production and consumption, and rules, analyzes the different behaviors of the auditory subject in the headset. The relationship between self, perception, and identity reflected in the attempt to discover what "headphone use" represents, what kind of social identity is connected, and how to participate in social and cultural interactions.By "how to use the headphones","what to use" and then "what is reflected",behind the auditory phenomenon, reflects the influence of the cultural background of post-modern society on individuals:the group is caught in the risk of trust, and then there is a sense of anxiety and uneasiness;consumption brings "illusive subjectivity"through the "temptation, addiction" approach;the spatial boundary between public and individual becomes precarious, and integration and mobility become the norm.At the same time, under the stress of post-modern space, people's auditory behavior is more and more personalized, loose and disordered.
