Microstrip array antennas have attracted much attention due to their advantages of high gain,controllable beam shape and easy of conformal with the dielectric surface.Nowadays,they are widely used in many fields such as,radio frequency identification(RFID)and electronic countermeasure(ECM).This dissertation studies the conformal antenna in military field and design cylindrical conformal antenna array suiting for grenades and conical conformal antenna suiting for missiles.The main work of the paper is as follows:A wideband cylindrical conformal antenna is proposed in this paper.The antenna has two different substrates.The relative dielectric constant of the inner layer is 2.2 while the outer one is 6.15.The thickness of the outer and inner substrates are 0.7874 mm and 0.762 mm,respectively.The ground plane is attached to the inner layer of the outer substrate.The outer substrate is attached by a patch array and a feed network is formed between the two layers.The antenna is composed of four sets of patches.Each set consists of two rectangular patches of the same size,and the upper parts are used to extend the band.The impedance bandwidth is improved by off-centered coupling feed and adding attached patch.The results indicate that the realized antenna can operate in the range of 2.3-2.58 GHz(11.67%),and the maximum gain is 4.816 d Bi.Omnidirectional radiation is obtained at ?=60°.The designed antenna has the advantages of wide frequency band,high gain,simple structure and low cost.It can be used in conformal grenade and other military communication fields.A wide beam conical conformal antenna is proposed in the second part of the paper.Rogers 4350 with the relative dielectric constant of 3.48 and thickness of 0.254 mm is used as the dielectric substrate.The ground plane is attached to the inner of the substrate while the feeding network and radiation patches are put on the outside.The array antenna is attached to a cone with an upper diameter of 2 mm,lower diameter of 76 mm and height of 100 mm.The patch is consisted of a 5×4 rectangular array.The beamwidth and beam shape are improved by using symmetry phase shifter on the feeding network.The results indicate that the antenna can operate in the range of 23.8-25 GHz.It has a half power beam width of 56 ° and the highest gain of 9.8 d Bi.The antenna has advantages of low profile,high gain,low cost,simple structure and wide radiation range.It can be used in the wireless communication system or energy acquisition devices at the missile tip.
