With the continuous development of Internet technology and multimedia technology, various intelligent terminal devices gradually infiltrate into our daily life. The application of these devices can make our life more colorful and convenient.People can disseminate distribute various multimedia data through smartphones and tablets freely and conveniently(such as audio, video, images, etc). While enjoying the convenience brought by the development of information technology, many security problems also emerge.Information hiding is an important technology used to solve security issues such as multimedia copyright protection, authentication and traceability, etc.Traditional information hiding technology utilized to embed the secret information into a cover to achieve the purpose of covert communication. This process is often irreversible and will cause permanent distortion to the content of cover data.Traditional data hiding techniques require the availability of cover data. While in some practical application scenarios, such as military, medical, and judicial, which have extremely high requirements for data content authentication, such permanent distortion is strictly forbidden.Under the background of such demand, the reversible information hiding technology is proposed and gradually gains attention.Digital video,as one of the most popular digital multimedia, has intuitive content.H.264/AVC,which is one of the most commonly used video compression standards, has received much attention from researchers in the field of data hiding. This paper focuses on the research of H.264 and the reversible data hiding for video streams. The main work of this paper is as follows:1)A reversible data hiding scheme based on a modified difference expansion for H.264/AVC videos is proposed and it is based on a novel way to expand the difference of a pair of QDCT coefficients. The secret data is embedded into the QDCT coefficients of 4×4 luminance blocks, which selected according to two conditions to avoid distortion drift. The selection of 4×4 blocks can suppress the effects of distortion drift on the quality of marked videos. The average reduction of PSNR between the original sequences and the marked ones is 0.32 dB,which is smaller than the reference schemes. The experiment results show that our scheme can achieve good visual quality on marked videos and has a reasonable embedding capacity at the same time.2)A reversible data hiding is proposed based on zero quantization coefficients.A mapping rules is proposed to reduce the accumulation of embedding distortion on edge coefficients by combining the IDCT transform process of H.264 and the coefficient-pairs.This mapping rule is used to embed data into the zero quantization coefficients on a 4×4 block improving capacity of data embedding and achieve good visual quality of marked videos. The average reduction of PSNR between the original sequences and the marked ones is 0.24 dB,and the average increase of bit-rate between the original sequences and the marked ones is 0.23%.The simulation results show that our scheme has good performance on restraining BRI and improving video quality.
