Research On “Gatekeepers” Of News From Mobile Application

"Gatekeeper" theory is one of the first terms entering Chinese academic circles of Journalism and Communication.Not only that,it is also the first attempt to combine the practical application of the theory of news dissemination.With the great changes in the development of Journalism and Communication,there must put forward the request for the development of the theory.Based on media type and installed capacity,this study chose People's Daily,ThePaper,Tencent news and Toutiao as the research objects,using the method of content analysis and comparative research methods,analysing "home page","headlines" and "issues" on the four news APPs,to explore the "gatekeeper" behavior bias.The study found that the mobile phone news APP has commonness and personality on the "home page" performance,which reflects the common social,political,economic and technological environment.And personality more closely reflects the media organization's "gatekeeper" behavior.Second,the mobile APP news on the "headlines" performance tends to be consistent.The news theme and key words has similaridentity,with is closely related to a large extent with the political and social environment.Third,the mobile phone news APP on "issues" extends the performance issues due to the different nature of the different bias.On political issues,all show a positive bias,but there are differences in comprehensive reports;and on the economic and social network and other issues,the platform has different bias.
