The Relationship Between The Use Of Social Media And Safety Behavior

Safety in production is very important for the survival of enterprises.Enterprises must attach great importance to the safety of employees and take necessary measures to improve their safety behavior.However,in the aspect of improving the safety behavior,we find that most of the previous researches focus on the factors of "hard environment" and lack the concern of "soft environment".Social Media,as a necessary medium for people to communicate in the contemporary society,influences every aspect of people's life and work.So,does the use of social media have an impact on employee safety behavior? At the same time,safety behavior is divided into two dimensions: safety compliance and safety participation,which are different and represent different safety goals of employees.Will social media use have the same impact on safety compliance and safety participation?In this study,780 employees in the construction and postal industries were selected as subjects,and the social media usage scale was revised.In the second study,623 employees in the construction industry were selected as subjects,using the social media usage scale,psychological capital scale,work engagement scale and safety behavior scale as measuring tools,this study investigated the relationship between use of social media,and safety behavior,the mediating role of psychological capital and work engagement is further discussed.Network data are collected by questionnaire star,and the data are processed by using SPSS 19.0 and Mplus 7.0 software,variance analysis,correlation analysis,regression analysis and so on,explore the relationships and mechanisms between use of social media,psychological capital,work engagement,and safe behavior.The results showed that:(1)The use of social media is significantly positively related to safety compliance and safety participation.(2)Psychological capital plays an intermediary role between the use of social media and safety compliance,and between the use of social media and safetyparticipation.(3)Work engagement plays an intermediary role between the use of social media and safety compliance,and between the use of social media and safety participation.(4)Psychological capital and work engagement play a chain intermediary role between the use of social media and safety compliance,and between the use of social media and safety participation.
