In the design process of radar,in order to facilitate the internal field test,depth simulation of sea surface environment is very important,among which sea clutter is the main interference that affects the radar performance,so the key lies in the establishment of accurate clutter model and simulation of reasonable clutter data.At present,most of the domestic research results are focused on clutter theoretical modeling and software simulation,but few studies combine theoretical model with hardware engineering implementation.Therefore,on the basis of theoretical statistical model,various typical clutter can be achieved by hardware,which is of great significance to shorten the testing period and cost of radar.This paper takes sea clutter as the research object and realizes the simulation of several typical clutter models through the relevant platform built by field programmable gate array(FPGA).The main work and innovation points of this paper include the following aspects:1.Taking the statistical characteristics of sea clutter as the entry point,a model-specific parameter estimation method is introduced for different typical amplitude distributions.Setting up multiple control groups for simulation experiments based on IPIX radar measured data,the effect of different factors on the amplitude fitting and Doppler spectrum estimation is qualitatively analyzed by the combination of scattering mechanism,which also provides a guarantee for the accuracy of the information extraction of the preset data in the subsequent clutter simulation based on look-up table.2.After comparing the advantages and disadvantages of the two kinds of clutter generation modes commonly used in engineering,a sea clutter simulation method based on look-up table on FPGA is proposed.The information extraction of the measured data of the IPIX radar and the configuration of the clutter preset data are realized by the accurate and stable statistical characteristic estimation method by means of software and hardware.This simulation method can select different distributions of sea clutter signals for addressing output according to requirements.The advantage of this data configuration and output method is that it can accurately and truly reproduce the sea clutter signal.3.The hardware design of FIR filter in clutter simulation algorithm is discussed in detail.The method of dividing the traditional filter into serial,parallel and distributed three structures on the FPGA is proposed according to different implementations of multiply and accumulate operations,including theoretical structural design,coefficient calculation and improvement methods.Getting performance comparison of resource occupancy and data processing speed after function verification,and the advantages and disadvantages of different structures are obtained,which provides guidance for the structural selection of the filter in the hardware migration of the subsequent clutter algorithm.4.In order to make up for the shortcomings of the sea clutter simulation method based on look-up table,which requires high performance of hardware storage and general flexibility,based on the detailed discussion of the theoretical clutter simulation scheme,a sea clutter simulation method based on algorithm migration on FPGA is proposed.The Design and implementation of various modules such as random number sequence generation based on box-muller transform and gaussian spectrum filter are discussed step by step in combination with the main flow of the algorithm.The one-dimensional common clutter simulation results based on FPGA are given,the simulation results are in line with expectations,and the hardware implementation feasibility of the algorithm is verified.Compared with other clutter data generation methods,this method has the characteristics of flexible parameter selection and good interactivity.
