| Largely based on the individual characteristics theory and institutional characteristic theory,the paper describes the present situation and the influencing factors of income gap between men and women.It analyses the influencing degree of each influencing factor by regression analysis and correlation analysis and proposes the countermeasures and suggestions for narrowing the income gap between men and women.Firstly,through the overview of the research background and summary of literatures home and abroad,the paper proposes the research issues and main research contents.From personal characteristics and institutional characteristics,the paper describes the general situation of the income gap between men and women.Income differences between men and women have become increasingly evident.From the perspective of personal characteristics,female special physiological factors affect their education level,employment opportunities,and employment income.From the institutional perspective,the underlying causes for income differences between men and women are based on gender role and gender social theory.Other similar theories suggested are built on these theories,including labor market stratification theory,labor market discrimination theory,labor market professional isolation theory,and labor market statistical discrimination theory.Secondly,based on human capital theory,the paper explores the relationship between human capital differences between men and women and the income level.From the perspectives of education level,technical level and professional title acquisition,and degree of efforts to labor,the papers empirically analyzes the causes for the income gap and finds out that that all the above factors correlates with the income gap between men and women.In the last place,based on the above empirical analysis,the paper proposes countermeasures and suggestions to improve the income level of women and reduce the income differences between men and women.These include increasing women education opportunity,increasing women training opportunities,eliminating discrimination in the labor market,increasing the investment on female education from the govemment5 and changing women5 s perception on their own role.Through the above countermeasures,it is possible to effectively improve women income level,reduce the income gap between men and women,and further promote equality between men and women. |
