Critical equipment systems generally refer to systems with high-value,high-tech complexity and mission-critical related in asset-intensive companies(such as commercial aviation, defense industry, etc).Once the device fail,it will bring to the enterprise serious economic losses.Original equipment supplier provide equipment and after-sales service for operators under performance based contracts.Because operators need to consider the investment cost pressures, production capacity and other factors, operators often install a critical equipment or production line at first, then gradually increase the critical mass of equipment to increase production capacity.Other clients may also purchase such key equipment in the same region,so supplier gradually expand facilities and services markets in the region.Either of the above reason, key equipment ownership in the region will gradually increase for the suppliers, although each device failure rate was generally stable,as the increasing number of critical equipment. This requires equipment suppliers to vary characteristics according to the total maintenance requirements, increasing the number of the region's spare parts inventory and maintenance services ability to timely adjust performance based contracts.Obviously, the problem which need to solve include:what to use about inventory strategy, how to set inventory parameters each time, when to adjust performance based contracts, how to design performance based contracts, parameters each cycle. These are all the key issues which suppliers and operators need to resolve. At present, domestic and foreign literature about the performance-based contracts mainly focus on the empirical side and the selection of performance indicators. Many research about spare parts inventory are the stable maintenance requirements or demand forecasting, but there is less involved in literatures about unsteady demand. Therefore, according to the characteristics of the above problems this article research spare parts inventory optimization problem with varying requirement under performance based contracts.(1)This paper studies the spare parts inventory and the performance based contracts' s co-design problems.Strong focus on how suppliers control spare parts inventory and design performance based contracts under the varying maintenance requirements. This paper make the spare parts inventory service levels as a benchmark to measure system performance.Simultaneously,This paper establish a multi-stage spare parts inventory optimization model under performance based contracts. Finally,This paper get the best set of spare parts inventory strategy and the multi-stage solving decision about performance based contracts. In addition,This paper compare our model with performance based contracts without spare parts inventory cost optimization model. This paper also analysis the affect of PBC design on spare parts inventory policies and service levels.(2)This paper studies the spare parts inventory and the performance based contracts' s co-design problems. This paper consider the case which the focus serviceable spare parts inventory. When equipment failure repaired can be sent to spare parts inventory tore cycle,it is a system cycle. This paper make the spare parts inventory service levels as a benchmark to measure system performance.Simultaneously,This paper establish a multi-stage spare parts inventory optimization model under performance based contracts and the basis for calculating the optimal inventory levels, comparing with non-repairable spare parts inventory strategies.Through case studies to give, performance based contracts has a high incentive for service providers to increase spare parts inventory level.Suppliers establish a service center with a theoretical. The establishment of service centers can save costs and efficient use of resources. This study not only enriches the relevant theoretical research, but also provides an important reference and guidance on the performance of the contract combined the use of spare parts inventory in reality.
