Study On The Relationship Between Outward Foreign Direct Investment And Export Sophistication From The Perspective Of Industrial Upgrading

With the acceleration of the process of economic globalization,outward foreign direct investment(OFDI)has become the main force in international economic activities.China's foreign direct investment has developed very rapidly in recent years.Researchers prove that foreign direct investment plays a role in promoting the upgrading of home country industries.On the other hand,Some related documents prove that foreign direct investment has a certain influence on the technical complexity of the home country's exports.On the basis of these two theories,this paper makes a comprehensive study on OFDI,industrial upgrading,and so on.This paper discusses the different influence paths of foreign direct investment on export sophistication,and analyzes the current foreign investment of our country.After that,combining with multi-party theory,this paper improves the model framework of the past research,and carries on the empirical analysis on this basis.Based on the results of empirical research,this paper puts forward the corresponding strategic and policy suggestions for our country to give full play to the positive role of foreign direct investment and improve the export sophistication in the future.This paper includes theoretical and empirical research.From the perspective of writing framework,it is divided into seven parts.The first part is the introduction,which describes the writing era,economic background,writing purpose,research ideas.The innovation and difficulty of writing,and the definition of the key variables in this paper,the second part is the literature review,systematically summarizes the development of the current research in the field,and the possible gaps;The third part is the analysis of the development trend of key indicators and the current situation of industry distribution.From the perspective of the changes of a series of indicators in recent years and the industrial and spatial composition of foreign direct investment,the trend of each index in recent years is analyzed.The fourth part is the mechanism analysis,through the induction,the summary,the development to the previous theory,analyzes and summarizes the foreign direct investment to the home country's export sophistication different influence path;the fifth part is the theory model derivation,According to the previous results and theoretical analysis of the influence mechanism,from the point of view of mathematical theory to build the theoretical model of this study;the sixth part is the empirical study of this paper,showing the results of this empirical research and analysis;The seventh part is the policy recommendations,on the basis of the previous research conclusions,the author puts forward the corresponding strategic and policy suggestions to improve the export sophistication level of our country.In the empirical analysis,we first use the sample data of 68 countries from 2006 to 2015 to examine the relationship between FDI and export sophistication after taking into account the factors of industrial upgrading.The mechanism of the overall impact of OFDI on the export sophistication is verified.And through the grouping regression comparison between developed and developing countries,we can find out the different characteristics of different types of countries.On this basis,In this paper,according to a country's per capita income level,the sample country groups are regressed more subdivided,and it is found that the different variables of different income levels play different roles.Through both theoretical and empirical studies,this paper draws the conclusion that,for developed countries,or high-income countries,OFDI is not easy to work in the short term.Its impact on export sophistication is more likely to increase export sophistication through long-term accumulation to promote industrial upgrading;for developing countries as a whole,OFDI can have a positive impact on export sophistication in both paths;in particular,for low-income countries,OFDI has little impact on export sophistication.The upgrading of export sophistication depends more on the improvement of internal factors and the support of foreign investment.Nowadays,China is in the forefront of developing countries,and many indicators are beginning to approach developed countries.After a period of rapid economic development,China has gradually stepped into the stage of economic structural transformation.Through the comprehensive analysis of the different roles of foreign direct investment on the export sophistication in countries at various stages of development,it is of great importance to make effective use of China's outward foreign direct investment.In order to make it more in line with the needs of China's current economic development,has a positive guiding significance.
