The healthy and sustainable economic development model needs to be driven by consumption, and the residents' income can have an impact on consumption. The income gap is an important factor affecting the consumption structure. However,China is still in the transition period of the economic system and various systems have yet to be improved. With the reform of the income distribution system, the income level of urban residents has significantly increased, but this change has increased the income gap of urban residents, and thus formed a different income class, the level of income affects the residents' uncertainty about the future Level of reaction.Different income groups will consume according to their own consumption needs, and the marginal propensity to consume will also be different, leading to differences in the consumption structure. Therefore, taking into account the differences in consumption behaviors among different income classes, this paper examines the consumption behavior and propensity to consume in different income classes. The overall analysis of the consumption structure of different income strata will enable more targeted release of consumption potential.Economic Growth. This article is based on the perspective of different income strata of urban residents in China to study their differences in consumption.First of all,we analyze the reasons for the formation of different income strata in China's urban residents from four aspects: the reform of the income distribution system, the characteristics of the monopoly industry, the development of emerging companies, and the change in the employment structure;using data from the past two decades for different income classes. The analysis of consumption status shows that the consumption expenditures of different classes in urban China are increasing year by year, but the growth rate of each income class is not the same.Secondly,we collected data on the disposable income and consumption expenditures of urban residents in China, and queuing all surveyed households in urban areas from low to high annual disposable income of each household. Then,in this order, the total number of all surveyed households was increased by 10%.The proportions of 10%,20%,20%,20%,10%,and 10% were divided into seven groups for study.Using eviews to establish a regression model, error correction model,Panel Data model to test the stability of the data of indicators, cointegration test, study and analyze the differences in consumption of different income strata of urban residents. The analysis shows that there are differences in the order of the marginal propensity to consume among different income strata. The consumption structure will change with the increase of disposable income. The high-income stratum does not have much interest in surviving consumption. It focuses on enjoyment and developmental consumption. The main reason is that the standard of living is relatively high and there is no survival problem. However, for the middle and low income groups, the demand for food and housing is still high. Finally, according to the results of this study, this paper proposes several suggestions for improving the consumption level of the high-,middle-,and low-income groups from the perspective of the government and the enterprise, and satisfying the multi-level consumer demand, forming a reasonable consumption structure.Achieve the goal of stimulating consumption growth.
