The Influence Of Internal Control And Media Attention On Executive Excess Perquisite

The separation of ownership and management has gradually become a common feature of modern enterprises in China.Management in the process of managing,using excessive perquisite of authority,has seriously affected the interests of enterprises and shareholders.At present,our country does not disclose the amount of perquisite,and the amount is difficult to measure.It provides opportunities and possibilities for management to obtain private benefits through excessive perquisite.The management of excess perquisite has received extensive attention from the academic circle,which is intended to explore the solution to the problem of excess perquisite.This thesis studies the internal governance mechanism and the external governance mechanism in two aspects.As the formal system within the enterprise,internal control can improve the corporate governance structure.This thesis discusses whether it is possible to control the excess amount of perquisite by internal controls.In addition,many scholars have studied the external governance mechanism from the perspective of law and system.However,the construction of law and system in our country is not perfect at present.Relying solely on law and system is not a wise move.With the rapid spread of information technology and the Internet to promote the media as a carrier of information has become an important force in the economy and society,many scholars have confirmed the media as an external governance mechanism can participate in enterprise management,which provides a new way of thinking for us to solve the excess perquisite problem.This thesis selects A listed companies in China from 2014 to 2016 as the research samples,and analyzes the relationship between internal control,media attention and excess perquisite.Based on descriptive statistics,correlation analysis,collinearity test and OLS regression analysis,the following conclusions are drawn: Internal control can effectively inhibit excessive perquisite of executives;Media attention can effectively suppress senior executive perquisite;Internal control and media attention can complement each other and jointly govern senior executive consumption.The conclusion of this thesis emphasizes the importance of internal control,enterprises should establish a sound internal control system to play a role in corporate governance internal control better;At the same time,we should improve the independence the media,strengthen the supervision of the media industry,and strive to improve the professionalism of the media employees,combined with internal and external corporate governance,to governance excess perquisite.
