City infrastructure can effectively promote economic growth, greatly improve the living environment of urban residents, and it also an important symbol of a country's comprehensive national strength. In recent years, with the development of economy, our government has increased investment in urban infrastructure and continuously increased the share of urban infrastructure in fixed assets investment.In2015,the proportion reached 21.3%.In the government work report, also highlighted the importance of the city infrastructure, the city infrastructure construction can effectively improve residents' life quality, improve the living environment of city, promote regional economic growth. We should steadily promote the renovation and transformation of city infrastructure, constantly enhance the comprehensive carrying capacity of the city, and enhance the safety and security capabilities of the whole city. This undoubtedly effectively supports the new urbanization process in China. In this paper, econometric theory and development economics and methods based on the spirit of effectively improve the city infrastructure to analyze the specific effects on the economic growth of China's city infrastructure construction, find out the existing problems, and puts forward some policy suggestions on these problems.on the beginning of the article, will first introduce the background and significance of this study,as well as the related research results of Chinese and foreign scholars, and clarify the relevant theories and concepts, looking for the research direction of this paper. Then, explain the relevant theories of urban infrastructure and economic growth, clarify the definition of city infrastructure, and the mechanism of city infrastructure to promote economic growth,so as to provide a theoretical basis for the whole article.Combined with the empirical analysis results of the whole article,we find the existing problems in the field of city infrastructure in China, and put forward relevant policy recommendations to improve the city infrastructure investment.By analyzing the current situation of city infrastructure investment in China,we can understand the current economic development status, and the investment status of various sectors of city infrastructure, the development of city infrastructure indifferent regions, and the investment and financing means of China's current urban infrastructure investment. In order to make the research more credible,in the empirical part,by constructing vector autocorrelation(VAR)model of concrete analysis of city infrastructure influence economic growth, through the Granger causality test and impulse response function analysis of city infrastructure investment impact on economic growth, with the empirical results, our country's city infrastructure can be the positive role of economic growth, but some time with city infrastructure investment lag effect in the short term is relatively low,in the long term, can effectively promote the stable development of economy. The research in this paper shows that the city infrastructure investment can effectively promote economic growth, and the economic growth provides material guarantee for the investment in city infrastructure. However, despite our increasing investment in city infrastructure, there are still many problems in city infrastructure investment, such as unbalanced development among regions, serious waste of resources caused by blind investment, and lack of investment and financing system, resulting in a shortage of funds. To improve the investment in city infrastructure,we should not only rely on the leading role of the government, but also improve the investment environment of the city infrastructure and promote the investment enthusiasm of private capital through a series of measures.
