Research On The Influence Of Urban Residents' Health Care Consumption On The Development Of Pharmaceutical Industry

With our country's economy developing rapidly,the level of urban residents' health care consumption has been increased significantly.However,many problems still cannot be ignored.For example,the health care consumption is growing excessively fast,but its overall level is obviously low.Moreover,the efficiency and structure of health care consumption need to be optimized.The reform and opening up not only has promoted the rapid development of China's economy,but also has enhanced the driving role of consumption in the economy.The consumption structure has been constantly optimized and upgraded,but the adjustment of the industrial structure has been slower.In 2009,the central government implemented a new medical reform policy.Since then,the pharmaceutical industry has been in a new development period.In 2015,China's pharmaceutical industry sales revenue was 36201.3 billion yuan.The annual growth rate has increased by 27%than 2009.As a sunrise industry,the development of the pharmaceutical industry plays an important role in China's economic growth.However,due to the prominent problems such as low market concentration,inconspicuous product differentiation,and low level of independent research and development,the development of the pharmaceutical industry has not been able to keep up with the consumer demand for health care.Based on that,it is a major problem for our country that how to make full use of the health care consumption structure upgrading in the demand level to promote the development of pharmaceutical industry in the supply level.Therefore,it is very necessary to study the influence of urban residents' health care consumption on the development of the pharmaceutical industry.This paper mainly focused on theoretical,statistical and empirical analysis.In the theoretical analysis section,the impact mechanism of medical and health care consumption on the pharmaceutical industry and relevant theoretical analysis were mainly carried out.In the statistical analysis section,the analysis of the urban residents' health care consumption and the development of the pharmaceutical industry were mainly done,as well as the correlation analysis of the two.In the empirical analysis section,this paper selected relevant data from 1995 to 2015 and established a VAR model from two aspects:expenditure level and expenditure structure.Using impulse response analysis and variance decomposition analysis,three empirical conclusions were drawn:(1)The total sales revenue of the pharmaceutical industry has always had a strong long-term positive impact on its own impact in the aspect of health care consumption's expenditure level and structure.(2)Urban residents' health care consumption has a strong long-term positive effect on the total sales revenue of the pharmaceutical industry in the aspects of health care consumption's expenditure level,with a contribution rate of 54%.The per capita disposable income of urban residents also has a long-term positive impact on it,but contributes only 31.68%.Urban medical insurance coverage still has a positive impact on it,but it is the weakest.(3)In the aspect of health care consumption's expenditure structure,both health care products and medical appliances consumption have long-term positive effect on the total sales revenue of the pharmaceutical industry,while medical expenses and tonic drug expenditure have negative effect on it,but the contribution of the various health care consumption for the total sales revenue of the pharmaceutical industry is increased with time,finally stabilizes at about 15%.In conclusion,this paper puts forward five suggestions on how to give full play to health care consumption superiority and drive the development of the pharmaceutical industry:(1)establish a linkage mechanism for income and consumption to increase the level of health care expenditure,(2)establish a coupling mechanism for supply and demand to optimize health care consumption structure,(3)optimize the supervision mechanism of the pharmaceutical market to improve the health care consumption environment,(4)optimize the mechanism drivien by innovation of pharmaceutical industry to improve the core competitiveness of pharmaceutical industry,(5)establish an intensive development mechanism to optimize the pharmaceutical industry structure.
