In recent years, with the improvement of the residents' material living standards and the change in consumer awareness, people's attention to health has increased and the demand for health services has also increased dramatically. The health service industry has gradually become a hot topic in society.2013,The State Council's "Several Opinions on Promoting the Development of the Health Service Industry" clearly outlines the scientific connotation and extension of the health service industry, and outlines the general requirements, main tasks, and policy measures for the development of the health service industry in China. This article is divided into six parts: The first part is the introduction part, which outlines the research background and significance of the health service industry,as well as the contents, methods and innovations of the paper;the second part introduces the basic connotation and industry of the health service industry. The scope of identification and related theoretical basis;the third part expounds the development of health service industry at home and abroad as well as the problems in the development of China's health service industry; The fourth part is based on the principle of index system selection, and builds an index system for the development potential of the health service industry. The TOPSIS entropy method is used to measure the weight of each index, and the comprehensive evaluation results of the health development potential of 336 prefecture-level units in China are obtained. The fifth part uses ArcGIS software and spatial autocorrelation to explore the potential of health service industry in China. The sixth part proposes the countermeasures and suggestions for the development of the health service industry in China. The following conclusions are drawn:From the perspective of index weights, the factor-driven potential contributes the most to the development potential of the health service industry, followed by the market-driven potential, again the development of environmental potential, and finally the potential for human settlements. The results of comprehensive evaluation scores show that the spatial distribution of China's healthy development environmental potential shows a trend of high in the east and low in the west;the spatial distribution of factor-driven potential presents high in the southeast, followed by the middle, and low in the northeast and northwest;the market supply and demand potential is distributed in a discrete form in space. In a discrete pattern, theoverall pattern is that the east is high and west is low,and the middle is the next. The potential for human settlements overall reaches medium potential. The spatial distribution is higher in the southeast and southwest, the second in the northwest, and the poorer in the middle part.In terms of regional spatial differences, the development potential of China's health service industry presents a ladder-like distribution of east to west and low to the west, and there is a spatially significant difference in the development potential of the health service industry. The health service industry in the eastern region has the highest comprehensive development potential, followed by the central region, and the western region has the lowest development potential.Spatial autocorrelation results show that HH clusters are mainly distributed in Beijing,Tianjin,Shandong Peninsula,Yangtze River Delta and Pearl River Delta;HL clusters are scattered in space, including 9 prefecture-level units in Zhengzhou,Taiyuan,Xi'an,and Chongqing.while the LL clusters are mainly distributed in China's Shaanxi-Gansu-Ningxia region and Yunnan-Guizhou area.
