As people's living standards improve and health awareness increases, the demand for health services continues to grow.On the other hand, the population aging in China is accelerating and the market demand for health-care-related industries is also gradually expanding.Judging from the status quo of development, there are a series of problems in China's health service industry such as unbalanced resource distribution, incomplete industrial system and low comprehensive quality of employees. Therefore, the future development of China's health service industry needs to seize the opportunity, but also to deal with the challenges reasonably. It is an urgent task and goal to determine the scientific definition of the health service industry, improve the basic health service system and improve the health service supply capability.Based on the above background,on the basis of combing the existing literature, this paper first defines the concept of health service industry.Secondly, from the seven aspects of infrastructure, industrial development, human resources, technological innovation, economic development, population health level and ecological environment we construct the evaluation system of regional competitiveness of health services industry with 35 indicators.Thirdly,we use the TOPSIS-PROMETHEE method to evaluate the competitiveness of health services industry in 31 provinces and regions in our country. Finally, using the spatial autocorrelation analysis the evolution of the competitiveness of health service industry in all provinces and autonomous regions during the year 2005-2015,and put forward relevant countermeasures and suggestions pertinently. The empirical analysis results are as follows:(1)From the perspective of index weight, infrastructure construction and talent development are the key factors that affect the competitiveness of health service industry.(2)The competitiveness of the health service industry in the eastern region has always been ahead of the competition in 2005-2015.The competitiveness of the health service industry in the central region has been rapidly growing. The competitiveness of the health service industry in the western region has been ranked behind, but the growth rate has been accelerating rapidly and the gap with the eastern region has been gradually narrowed.(3)Spatial autocorrelation results show that there is a significant spatial positive correlation among the ten years. The high-high spatial agglomeration is mainly distributed in the eastern coastal areas. The low-lowspatial agglomeration is mainly distributed in the western region, and there are also high-low and low-high spatial heterogeneities in the region.
