Research On The Impact Of TMT Heterogeneity To Business Model Adaptation

The degree of adaptation between business model and environment affects the profitability of the company,so it is important to study the adaptation of business model from the perspective of managers,and then Business model adaptation has become the focus of academic research.Modern scholars' research on the adaptation of business models focuses on four aspects,namely,research on the drivers,influence on enterprise performance,business model adaptation process and influencing factors.One of the shortcomings of these studies is that the existing research on the adaptation of business models focuses on the allocation,utilization,driving force and influence of resources,and few decision makers are taken into account.Another is the two theories draw the opposite conclusion.Proponents of threat-rigidity theory contend that perceptions of opportunity induce more risk-taking behavior.Interestingly,prospect theory reflects under perceptions of threat,managers are more motivated to take risky action than under favorable conditions.In the process of research,the intermediary variables or moderator variables were ignored,and the inconsistency of the conclusions also pointed out the direction and path for the follow-up scholars.Therefore,it is necessary to introduce the mediating variables to explore the influence of TMT heterogeneity to business model adaptation.The purpose of this study is to apply the basic theory of TMT(Upper Echelons Theory)in the unique social and market context of China and analyze the relationship between TMT heterogeneity and business model adaptation.In this paper,network capabilities are introduced as intermediary variable,and environmental dynamism is introduced to explore its moderating effect on network capabilities and business model adaptation.By using the method of empirical research,the research model is formed on the basis of combing and summarizing the previous scholars' literature,and the research hypothesis is put forward,and we analyze data with SPSS23.0 software.Conclusions are as follows,First,TMT heterogeneity has a significant positive impact on the business model adaptation.Second,network capacities have a significant positive impact on the business model adaptation.Third,network capacities have a mediating effect on the influence of TMT heterogeneity to business model adaptationin the dynamic environment.The last,environmental dynamism plays a positive regulatory role on the relationship of network capacities based efficiency and business model adaptation.
