Urban agglomerations are an important feature of economic development in the modern era. From the perspective of the history of economic development worldwide, urban agglomerations always carry the vast majority of population and economic activities. At present, the Yangtze River Delta region is the region with the highest economic vitality in China.Although its degree of integration is relatively higher than that of other regions in the country,it still has a long way to go compared with the mainstream urban agglomerations in the world. In order to better promote the integrated development of the Yangtze River Delta, this paper attempts to study the impact of transportation infrastructure on the integration of the Yangtze River Delta, identify the influencing factors and influencing mechanisms of the integration of the Yangtze River Delta, and find a policy for the further integration of the Yangtze River Delta. The focus of the measure.First of all, through the review of relevant theories and the collation of related documents, this paper provides theoretical support for the argument that the transportation infrastructure affects the economic integration of the Yangtze River Delta region. Then, the article analyzes the status quo of the influence of transportation infrastructure on the integration of the Yangtze River Delta region.Including: status quo of transportation infrastructure in the Yangtze River Delta, current status of transportation infrastructure impacts on market integration and industrial integration in the Yangtze River Delta, convergence of relative prices in the Yangtze River Delta, and convergence of economic growth rates.Based on the analysis of the status, this paper studies the influence of transportation infrastructure on the integration of the Yangtze River Delta region from three aspects:(1)Based on Barro's ?-convergence analysis framework to study the impact of transportation infrastructure on the convergence of economic growth;(2))Based on the convergence of relative prices, empirically study the impact of transport infrastructure on market integration;(3)Construct a model based on the three indicators of industrial division of labor, industrial rationalization, and industrial advancement to discuss the impact of transport infrastructure on industrial integration. The empirical research results show that the transportation infrastructure can significantly promote the market integration and economic growth convergence of the Yangtze River Delta region, but it has no significant effect on the industrial division of labor and industrial rationalization, but it has a significant role in the promotion of industrial upgrading within the region. This may be due to the fact that the intervention of local governments has caused the phenomenon of industrial homogenization to be quite serious, thus obscuring or even distorting the role of transportation infrastructure in promoting the industrial division of labor and industrial rationalization. Therefore, this paper believes that a unified planning, layout, and coordination management can be made at the height of the Yangtze River Delta as a whole to strengthen the integration of transportation infrastructure construction to promote the integration of the Yangtze River Delta region.Local governments should strengthen policy coordination and communication, eliminate administrative barriers, and remove obstacles to the role of transportation infrastructure in promoting the rational allocation of industrial structures and elements.
