China is a populous country, and the problem of unemployment has a profound and negative impact on China's economic construction and social development.Entering the new era,we should manage to solve the problem of unemployment that occurs during the development of China's socialist market economy on the basis of national conditions.A comparative study of Marx and Kane's unemployment theory as a model for the research of the unemployment in China not only serves to deeply analyze the root cause of the problem of unemployment in our country, but also solves the unemployment problem of our country, and it also plays a good guiding role in this process. This issue is not only closely related to the well-being of Chinese people, but also serves to be an important way to realize the Chinese Dream of the great rejuvenation of China.Karl Marx's theory of unemployment theory and Keynesian theory are different in their origins and the research methods. Both Marx and Keynes are presenting their different understandings of unemployment reasons, the existence modes of unemployed population and the root cause of unemployment in capitalist society and its influence respectively in their unemployment theories.By using research methods such as literature review research, analysis of induction, comparison and contrast, the author conducts a thorough analysis on several typical monologues including Karl Marx's Das Kapital and Keynes' s General Theory of Employment,Interest and Money to deliver an in-depth comparative analysis of Marx and Keynes' s theory of unemployment.Thisthesis also reveals the major connections and distinctions between Marx and Keynes' s unemployment theories. In Marx's view, the first theory is that unemployment people is the relative surplus population produced by the increase of capital organically, which is the inevitable outcome of the capitalist system.Secondly, the fundamental solution to unemployment is to replace the capitalist system with a more advanced socialist system. In Keynes' s view, the first theory is that unemployment is caused by consumers' incapability to buy products,or they are able to purchase products but there is no sufficient demand.Secondly,Keynes,on the premise of maintaining the capitalist system, prefers to control unemployment by strengthening government intervention.Considering the conclusion of the thesis and the actual situation of employment in current society, the corresponding countermeasures and suggestions are put forward to better understand and solve the unemployment problem in the present situation. The theory of unemployment of Marx and Keynes has great effect on solving China's practical problems. With the ever-increasing pace of the development in reform and opening up along with our nation's economic structure transformation,we are facing a new situation that requires us to maintain Marx's theory of unemployment to the guiding position of our country in the macro level.Meanwhile,it is of great importance for us to notice that there are some limitations in Keynes' s unemployment theory, and therefore,we should critically take his theory as a reference in the micro level. We should keep pace with the times in developing Marx's unemployment theory and similarly, the development of Marx's unemployment theory should make it better guide for the construction of socialism with Chinese characteristics. The principle of taking public ownership as the main body and keeping a variety of ownership economies for a joint development is always a priority and will always be consolidated. Moreover, the application of the new development of Marx's theory of unemployment to China's specific national conditions will propose a new momentum to the promotion of high quality employment and the elevation of employment mechanism.
