With the implementation of China's "innovation-driven development strategy",and "mass entrepreneurship and innovation",our country's major innovative achievements are constantly emerging,such as manned space flight and quantum communication.High-speed rail,E-commerce,Mobile Payment and Shared Economy have also gradually led the world trend.Innovation has gradually become another important business card in the country's communication.In the enterprise of the innovation subject,management is the actual executor of the enterprise innovation strategy.How to stimulate the innovation motive of management is the important problem that the modern enterprise system needs to solve.The management incentive will affect the decision of the enterprise,thus influence the innovation performance of the enterprise.This paper first studies the impact of management incentive on innovation performance,and further studies the internal mechanism of management motivation and innovation performance,and explores the intermediary effect of R&D input on management motivation and innovation performance.On the basis of this study,from the micro context of the enterprise level,the impact of the enterprise life cycle stage on the relationship between management incentive and innovation performance is discussed,in order to provide a more dynamic and comprehensive decision reference for the establishment of internal incentive mechanism and the sustainable development of enterprises.Through the study,the following conclusions are drawn:(1)in general,the implementation of monetary compensation incentive,equity incentive and control right incentive can significantly promote the improvement of enterprise innovation performance.This conclusion is in line with the viewpoint of incentive theory.(2)management motivation affects management decision and then decides intensity of R&D input,which eventually results in different innovations.There is a mediating effect of R&D investment on the impact of monetary compensation incentive and equity incentive on innovation performance,and there is no intermediary role in the impact of control right incentive on innovation performance.(3)management monetary compensation incentive can play a positive role in the performance of innovation performance at different stages of life cycle.This difference also explains why monetary compensation incentives can become the main incentive mode for Chinese listed companies.Equity incentive has a positive effect on innovation performance in different stages of life cycle.Compared with mature period and recession period,the implementation of equity incentive in the growth period is more significant to improve the innovation performance.Under the growth period and the recession period,the management incentive has a positive effect on the innovation performance.Compared with the growth period,the implementation of control right incentive can promote the improvement of innovation performance in the recession period,but the implementation of control right incentive in the mature period can not improve the innovation performance.(4)The intermediary role of R&D input is different in the relationship between management motivation and innovation performance under different life cycle.In the mature period,R&D investment plays an intermediary role in the influence of monetary compensation incentive and equity incentive on innovation performance,and the intermediary role of R&D input is not found in other cases.This paper makes a thorough investigation of the diversified ways of management incentive and comprehensive measurement of enterprise innovation performance.It is helpful to investigate the incentive effect from the whole process of innovation activities,expand the related research results of management motivation and enterprise innovation performance,enrich the related theories of corporate governance,and broaden the management by exploring the impact of the enterprise life cycle.The research vision of the incentive and innovation performance provides the theoretical support for the listed companies of our country to make the internal incentive mechanism and select the incentive mode more effectively in combination with the life cycle of the enterprise.
