The concept of "middle income trap" was first proposed by the World Bank in its "East Asian Economic Development Report" in 2006.Since its introduction,it has caused extensive discussion in the academic community.The “middle income trap” problem belongs to the category of development economics and is the issue of the economic structural transformation that has occurred at a specific stage in the process of industrialization in developing countries.In the latter half of industrialization,when per capita income reaches a moderately developed level,some countries may experience failures in economic transformation and upgrading,which will cause economic growth to stagnate and delay in entering the ranks of high-income countries.China has now stepped into the ranks of middle-income countries.The main contradiction in society has shifted from the contradiction between the people's ever-increasing material and cultural needs and the backward social production to the people's ever-growing needs for a better life and unbalanced development.Contradictions.Will China's social economy fall into the "middle income trap" ? How to cross the "middle income trap" ? Become an important subject of concern in the academic community.The "middle income trap" is not a simple economic growth issue,but a comprehensive economic development issue that includes economic,social,environmental,and innovative capabilities.Therefore,the core idea of the dissertation is to adopt the idea of multivariate statistics.Construct a comprehensive indicator system to assess the spanning ability of a country and an area's "middle income trap." Based on the theoretical analysis,we selected four first-level indicators,23 second-level indicators for economy,society,environment,and innovation,and used the entropy method to construct a rating index for the “middle income trap” across capabilities.The factors affecting the “middle-income trap” have been identified,and it has been found that the major shortcomings in China's ability to overcome the “middle income trap” are the difficulty in upgrading the industrial structure,the excessive income distribution gap,and the harsh ecological environment.In response to these problems,this paper proposes China's strategy to leapfrog the "middle income trap."...
