The Mahu depression in Junggar basin is a region with great exploration potential because of abundant oil and gas resources and favorable reservoir accumulation condition.In recent years,large glutenite reservoir was discovered in Baikouquan formation of Mahu depression,and the exploration in the east of Mahu depression had also obtained great achievement.With the continuous development of the exploration progress,stratigraphic and structural lithologic reservoirs are becoming main target.Therefore the prediction of favorable reservoir distribution become a key exploration work in the east of Mahu slope.The structure shape and fault characteristics in research region are basically realized by interpreting the structure in the east of Manas Lake with the new 3D seismic data surrounding Mahu depression.Its overall structure shape is a southeastern monocline,Xiayan,Dabason,and Mahu,three anticline and a low amplitude uplift in the middle of Mahu depression were developed in research region.The fault developed well in the ease of Mahu slope and is divided into five types according to its development period and the characteristics.Multiple sets of fault systems have obvious control effect on the reservoir.Then recovered the paleogeomorphology by deposition thickness method in the end of depositional period of the Baikouquan formation,and analyzed the important controlling function of paleogeomorphology and slope break belts to the sedimentation of Baikouquan formation sand.Use waveform classification technology to analysis the seismic facies of target layer,and combine the fan delta deposition model,the distribution of fan bodies and subfacies are effectively identified.Use inversion method to carry out the sand body prediction,the spatial distribution characteristics of sand bodies become clear.Finally,synthesized all the research result above,determine the southern region of MZ2 well as favorable exploration area,and raise two drilling location in the favorable exploration area for laying foundations to the next exploration in the east of Mahu slope.
