| Brain computer interface(BCI)technology can help paralyzed patients rebuild their ability to exercise control and communicate externally. At present, the development of visual brain-computer interface technology is relatively mature. However, for patients with impaired visual function, the visual brain-computer interface is not suitable, but their auditory system is often intact, and the brain-computer interface system under the auditory paradigm can be applied.Auditory steady-state response(ASSR)is an auditory evoked potential induced by periodic sustainability sounds and the response frequency follows the frequency of the modulated wave.It is an objective electrophysiological evaluation index that can be applied to the study of auditory brain-computer interfaces. At present, the classification performance of brain-computer interface system based on auditory steady-state response is not ideal, and the requirements of classification accuracy and high information transmission rate cannot be achieved at the same time. Therefore, this paper studies the auditory steady-state response characteristics of the brain-computer interface.First of all, this paper explores the types of stimuli that can induce strong ASSR,and compares the intensity of ASSR induced by three kinds of stimuli, such as click, sinusoidal amplitude modulation(SAM)and white noise. The induced ASSR response is the strongest, the classification accuracy rate(97.86%)and the information transmission rate(6.69 bits/min)are the highest, and the required stimulation duration is the shortest(4 s).The experimental results show that the click sound is more suitable for developing the ASSR-based BCI system. In addition, this paper conducts a three-target experiment of the BCI system based on the type of stimulus that induces a strong ASSR response. The click sounds of three different modulation frequencies are applied to the brain-computer interface system based on the auditory steady-state response. The results show that the stimulation sounds of three different modulation frequencies can induce a strong ASSR response, and the modulation frequency is the strongest at 40 Hz.The results of the three-category based on the typical correlation analysis method show that the average classification accuracy rate of all subjects in the ASSR-based BCI system is 80.79%,which is greater than the classification accuracy rate in similar systems, and the corresponding information transmission rate is 4.74 bits/min;Among them, the modulation accuracy is 40 Hz,the classification accuracy rate is the highest, reaching 88.91%;the above experimental results show that the three targets are applicable to the brain-computer interface system based on auditory steady-state response. |
