Scientific imagination is a necessary ability and key character to solve scientific problems.Almost all great inventions in history cannot be separated from scientific imagination.It is of great significance to study the development status of scientific imagination of pre-service physics teachers in cultivating future innovative talents.Through literature review,this study completes the definition of scientific imagination and the analysis of educational value,forming the theoretical basis of this paper.On this basis,combining with the related concepts of physics and the four dimensions of scientific imagination,we developed a set of pre-service physical teachers' scientific imagination test questionnaire,and designed corresponding evaluation criteria and performance standards under different dimension,forming a set of multidimensional,multiple levels of scientific imagination evaluation system.Through the questionnaire of a normal university physical teachers' professional level 2017 undergraduate students and the analysis of the rasch model,the assessment tool of this paper has good reliability and validity.Finally,we got some conclusions about development status of scientific imagination of pre-service physics teachers by using statistical software.The study found that the level of scientific imagination of pre-service physics teachers developed unevenly in different dimensions,specifically,the critical dimension performed best,the rationality dimension second,the richness dimension third,and the creativity dimension worst.In addition,different testing tasks will also affect the level of scientific imagination of pre-service physics teachers.In addition,gender differences between male and female students did not have a significant impact on the overall level of scientific imagination and scores in all dimensions.Based on the above conclusions,this paper summarizes the following suggestions on cultivating pre-service physics teachers' scientific imagination: the cultivation of creativity exists all aspects of classroom teaching;put science fiction elements into the actual teaching;enrich students' cognitive experience with perceptual materials and play the value and function of thought experiment.
