WeiShan as the second home to antimony resource in YunNan province,however,the resource is at a high level of oxidation around 80%?90%.Although many researches on this have been carried out,an effective separation way to improve the recovery of the values from the is still out of reach at present,therefore there merely the high grade ores can be taken as recoverable resources by hand picking,it can't recover Sb from the ores effectively.It states that a new way to improve the recovery of the values from the antimony in this paper,with an expectation of industrialization.According to the assay of mineralogy,it shows that metal of sb at a grade of 3.87%,is mainly presented in the ore in the form of antimony oxide,with a trace of stibnite,and hence main studies on the separation of antimony oxide,stibnite have been investigated in the paper.Due to the feature of fragility of antimony oxide,and easy to be slimed,only 20%to 40%of Sb can be recovered from the antimony oxide by a widely used separation,and hence there is an enough room in improving the recovery of Sb,as long as a proper way is used.It shows that selective comminution occurs obviously in the crushing process,selective comminution refers to that antimony oxide is crushed preferentially,when cominution occurs.On the basis of the feature of selective comminution of antimony oxide,it can obtain a qualified product only by crushing the run-of-mine to a determined size without separation.Crushed run-of-mine at a size of-6mm is screened,particles less than 2mm can be taken as a Sb concentrate product,containing 6.81%of Sb at a recovery of 66.84%.Based on the results of experiments,a new flowsheet is determined,it contains that run-of-mine crushed selectively,produced coarse particles are fed to jigging to discard the gangue and obtain concentrate,produced middlings from jigging firstly are ground,and then disposed by flotation and gravity separation in order,and obtained fine particles by comminution are as product,or further concentrated to improve the grade,it depends on the market.In the paper a new way is developed that it is a combination of selective comminution,gravity separation,flotation and gravity separation in order,by this new way,it can obtain three kinds of concentrates that concentrate 1 contains 6.19%Sb,at a recovery of 22.05%,concentrate2 contains 12.80%Sb at a recovery of 37.59%,concentrate3 contains 24.71%Sb at a recovery of 12.77%,a total recovery of three concentrates is up to 72.41%.a key to the new practicable way is selective comminution what makes a great improvement in the recovery of Sb from the antimony oxide in Weishan from Yunan province possible...
