It is resulted in more serious pollution to the environment that the complexation between heavy metals and antibiotics, one of common pharmaceutical and personal care products(PPCPs),caused serious harm to environmental pollution.Urban sewage treatment plants are one of the major sources of such pollutants entering the environment and are also the main route to remove such contaminants. At present, the research on pollutants in urban sewage is mainly focused on the detection and management of effluent water quality, and little research is done on the types and contents of pollutants in the treatment units. Therefore, the urban sewage treatment plant in the unit of antibiotics and heavy metal detection of the environment has great significance. In this paper, the heavy metals in the wastewater of the sewage treatment plant were measured by inductively coupled plasma-atomic emission spectrometry, and to assess the threat of heavy metals to the environment. The study showed that the most seriously heavy metal pollution in the inlet of the city sewage was Fe and Mn ions. After the sewage treatment process the concentration of Fe was 0.25 83 mg·L-1,the concentration of Mn ions was 0.0252mg L-1,which was lower than that of Chinese class ? water quality. The removal rate was more than 50%.The contents of the remaining metal ions(Pb,As,Cr,Zn,Ba,Cu,Co,Sb and Ni)were lower than Grade? water quality standards.Qualitative analysis of the substances detected in the actual samples was carried out by HPLC and HPLC/MS after the organic matter in each sample was concentrated by solid phase extraction. The experimental method for the determination of antibiotics in sewage samples by high performance liquid chromatography(HPLC)was developed. The results showed that the antibiotics such as sulfamethoxazole, sulfadiazine, sulfamethazine, chloramphenicol, ofloxacin and chloromethoxazole were measured from the influent in the sewage treatment plant at 1 ?g·L-1.In addition to chloramphenicol, after the sewage treatment plant, the antibiotic removal rate was higher than 50%.In the sewage treatment process, the removal of antibiotics is mainly reflected in the biochemical pool processing unit.
