Silicon reagents are a class of important organic compounds. They not only have are used as versatile intermediates that can be easily transformed into various functional groups, but also display wide applications in total synthesis, polymer chemistry, and material chemistry. The silicon reagents such as tris(trimethylsilyl)silane(TTMSS)have attracted much attention from chemistry community.Silicon reagents have many advantages such as low toxicity, water stability, and environmental friendliness and they are an attractive alternative to replace toxic tin reagents. In this thesis,we developed a new strategy for the transformation of iodoalkanes to alcohols promote by visible light in the presence of iridium complex. The work has provided a new strategy for functional transformation of iodoalkanes. The research mainly includes the following aspects:(1)Investigation and optimization of the reaction conditions for the hydroxyl substitution reaction of iodoalkanes, such as light source, silicon reagent, photosensitizer, solvent, additive and so on.(2)Under the optimal conditions, the substrate scope of the reaction were screened. This reaction was effective for 1° and 2° iodoalkanes to give the corresponding alcohols in good to excellent yields, with good tolerance of functional groups such as esters and ethers.(3)Based on the control experiments including radical trapping experiment and fluorescence quenching experiment,we proposed a mechanism for the reaction.
