Waterborne wood coatings have attracted more and more attention both in the academia and industry,which is characteristic of environmental protection,low energy saving and emission reduction,and is the most promising alternative to oil-based wood coatings.As organic silicon containing flexible Si-O-Si chain with high bond energy,it can be used as a modifier to improve the water resistance and hardness of acrylic emulsion film.In this study,with acrylic emulsion as the main film former,and silane coupling agent KH570 as modifier,organic silicone modified acrylate emulsion was prepared by emulsion polymerization,herein,we systematic studied the surface hardness,impact resistance,wear resistance,resistance to water,acid and alkali,and other performance.?1?silicone modified acrylate emulsion was synthesized by emulsion polymerization method.The effects of reaction temperature,time,emulsifier,initiator,stirring speed and the KH570 on the conversion rate and gel ratio were studied,the optimum preparation conditions was obtained.The latex solid content and their pH were measured,the structure was charactered by the infrared spectra?FTIR?,and glass transition temperature was measured by differential scanning thermal analysis?DSC?.?2?Waterborne acrylic paint was prepared with the as-prepared acrylic emulsion as the main film former,the effects of KH570 on the coating solid content,viscosity,film adhesion,hardness,impact and wear resistance,water,alkali,and acid resistance were studied.?3?Waterborne acrylic paint was further sprayed coating on the surface of the softwood?Cunninghamia sp.?and hardwood?Gossampinus sp.?after adding the fluorosilane agent and SiO2 particles,whose surfaces is of micro/nano structure low-surface energy.the effects of fluorosilane/SiO2 on the contact angle of water,milk,green tea,orange juice,coffee,wine,soy sauce and other common droplets on their surface was measured.The results demonstrated that almost all the liquid contact angle on the softwood?Cunninghamia sp.?is above 150°,and slip angle is less than10°,indicating with superhydrophobic and self-cleaning effect.On the contrary,most of liquid droplet on the hardwood?Gossampinus sp.?failed to achieve superhyophobic effect,but the droplets can automatically rolled away the surface at a sliding angle,the above result demonstrated the modified wood has good waterproof and anti-fouling performances.
