Shooting range experiment is an important part of artillery research and development process, researchers can judge whether the target is off target by positioning the projectile near the target. These experiments provide data reference for the calibration and improvement of artillery. The development of modern military science and technology has made the strike accuracy of artillery shells greatly improved. Therefore, the positioning accuracy of the projectile also has more stringent requirements. In this paper,a high precision off-target measurement radar based on FM continuous wave signal is designed and implemented.First of all,the dissertation expounds the microwave front-end parameters, system structure and antenna deployment plan of high precision off-target radar,we discuss the sawtooth and triangular wave ranging principle of frequency modulation and choose the signal modulation system suitable for this system.Secondly,we discuss the hardware implementation of system, the chip selection and circuit design of each module as well as the power and clock overall planning of the entire system are discussed and analyzed. Then the expression of system positioning accuracy is deduced, the deviation of using FFT algorithm for frequency detection is analyzed.Through the combination of theoretical analysis and simulation, the feasibility of the system to achieve high-precision ranging and positioning is verified, then a detailed FPGA-based implementation is given. Finally,we debug each system module and test the work performance of them.System's ability to locate static targets and moving targets is verified respectively through field experiments, this proves that the radar system realizes the high-precision target positioning capability.
