In this paper, the damage effects of steel structures and steel frames under the blast loading were studied with the numerical methods and the rules of damage and collapse were obtained. The main contents and research results are as follows:(1)The damages of the I-beam components under the blast loading were numerically simulated. The damage strain and displacement on the web,the flange and the joints between the web center and the flange were analyzed.(2)The damage modes of I-beam members under blast load with different explosives resource distances were numerically simulated. The effects of different explosives distances on the damage process, pressure time-history curve and displacement time-history curve of I-beam members were compared.(3)The damage modes of I-beam with different web and flange thickness under blast loading were numerically simulated. The damage process of I-beam at four different thicknesses were compared.(4)The damage effect of 8-story steel frame under blast loading was numerically simulated. The damage and dynamic effects of the first layer, the middle layer and the top layer of the frame were studied respectively. The displacement and velocity time history curves of the beam-column joints in three directions were obtained.(5)The collapse process of the 8-story steel frame under blast loading was numerically simulated. The collapse effect of the steel frame within 1.2 s was analyzed emphatically. The displacement and velocity time-history curve of the top beam-column joint were obtained to get the dynamic response.
