The auxiliary sealing ring(rubber sealing O-ring and spring energized sealing ring)for high pressure dry gas sealing is a key component in the mechanical seal.The sealing performance of the auxiliary sealing ring plays an important role in the entire sealing system.There are two places to prevent leaks and to undertake the main sealing tasks in high pressure dry gas seals : one is the gas film seal formed by the gap between the dynamic ring and static ring;another is an auxiliary sealing ring seal between the assembly parts.In recent years,many domestic and foreign scholars have conducted a lot of research on dynamic ring and static ring.However,there are relatively few researches on the auxiliary seals for high pressure dry gas seals.Therefore,this article focuses on the auxiliary sealing rings for high pressure dry gas seals and studies their sealing characteristics.(1)Research on rubber sealing o-ring for high pressure dry gas seals: Based on the theory of the Mooney-Rivlin model for the nonlinear constitutive theory of superelastic bodies.A two-dimensional axisymmetric model established for auxiliary rubber sealing O-ring in high pressure dry gas seals based on ANSYS software,numerical simulations under different operating parameters(medium pressure,seal clearance)and structural parameters(rectangular groove,dovetail groove).Analyzed the influences of the sealing medium pressure and pre-tightening force on the Von Mises stress,shear stress and maximum contact stress of the rubber sealing O-ring,compared and analyzed the simulation results of the rectangular groove and the dovetail groove.Furthermore,the effect of different operating parameters and seal ring groove geometry parameters on the sealing performance of the rubber sealing O-ring was obtained.(2)Research on spring energized seal ring for high pressure dry gas seals: The three-dimensional model of the spring-energized PTFE seal ring was established using UG software.Using the finite element analysis software ANSYS to simulate the spring-energized seal ring in assembly and normal working state after simplifying the three-dimensional model for two-dimensional model and import grid software ICEM mesh,The parameters that characterize the sealing characteristics of the seal ring, such as Von Mises stress,shear stress,contact width,contact pressure distribution,etc.,are extracted,and the influence rules of the operating parameters on the seal performance of the spring energy storage seal under certain operating conditions are summarized.(3)Research on polytetrafluoroethylene(PTFE)seal materials for high pressure dry gas seals: In order to study the friction and wear characteristics of polytetrafluoroethylene(PTFE)seal materials under the condition of dry friction,based on MMW-1 vertical universal friction and wear tester,a friction and wear experimental research on the PTFE materials was implemented by selecting appropriate conditions and test method.The end face topography of test ring was observed by a particle shape analyzer and the surface roughness of test ring was accurately measured by a stylus profiler.The friction and wear properties of polytetrafluoroethylene(PTFE)sealing materials under dry friction conditions were studied,and experimental data support was provided for the application of PTFE sealing materials in dry gas sealing.
