Exploring the relationship between the built environment and travel behavior, and guiding the travel behavior of urban residents by optimizing the urban space supply have always been the focus of scholars in urban planning and transportation planning. However,a large number of existing studies only focus on the commuting behavior, and pay less attention to the behavior of commuters' non-work activity-travel.In recent years, with the continuous improvement of urban residents' income levels, the demand for more abundant and diverse daily activities and trips is also rising, not only on rest days, but also on the way to or from work of commuters on workdays. It makes the traffic congestion caused by commuting behavior even worse. Therefore, taking the research on the impact of the built environment on travel behavior as the starting point,it is necessary to turn the research perspective to the non-work activity-travel behavior of commuters, and improving the built environment of commuters' residences and work places to meet the needs of commuters' non-work activities and make the distance of non-work trips significantly shortened simultaneously. This will also help improve the working-day living standards of urban residents and enhance residents' sense of well-being.This paper first summarizes the domestic and foreign research status of the influence of built environment on the behavior of commuters' activity-travel.It is found that most studies focusing on the behavior of non-work activities do not have a deeper analysis and understanding of the various activities of commuters, and cannot recognize the spatial and temporal constraints between different activities fundamentally. In addition,a large number of studies are based on individuals and lack of consideration of non-work activities of other commuters in the family. All of these lead to model results that do not accurately assess the impact of the built environment on the behavior of commuters' non-work activity-travel.Therefore,based on the above research deficiencies, this paper introduces the activity-based analysis method, time geography and family activity-travel research results, and depicts the time-space constraints mode of commuters from the two dimensions of work duration and whether or not to use the private car.The theoretical frameworks of the influence of built environment on the individual non-work activity-travel behavior and the non-work activities of two double-employee family members. The data used includes the 2016 Kunming residents travel survey data,Openstreetmap road network data and Baidu map POI data. This paper constructs multiple linear regression models and structural equation model to erify the mechanism frameworks. The research results show that the built environment with high density, high mixing degree, good public transport accessibility and better road connectivity can significantly increases the frequency of non-work activities and reduces the distance of non-work trips of commuters. The built environment of the work place is more effective than the residence. There is a mediate effect of the work duration and whether or not the use of vehicles of commuters in the impact of the built environment on the behavior of non-work activitytravel. When the work duration is reduced or the private cars is used, the impact of the built environment on the behavior of non-work activity-travel is weakened. The impact of the resident built environment will not be mediated by the work duration. When the work duration is combined with whether or not to use the private car to characterize the spacetime constraint mode, there is a primary-second relationship between the two factors. The work duration is the main factor that mediates the influence of the built environment on the behavior of non-work activity-travel.From the family perspective, when there are differences in time-space constraints between family members, the interaction of family members is significant, and the influence of the work place built environment will also affect other family members through the interaction effect. The research results of this paper can perfect the mechanism of the impact of the built environment on commuters' non-work activity-travel theoretically, and provide more detailed and accurate guidance for land use policy or transportation policy in practice.
