Power Line Communication(PLC)is a communication method that uses power lines as a medium,and has the advantages of easy deployment,convenient use,and wide coverage.At present,PLC has gradually become a more competitive communication method in the smart grid.However,the rapid fading of the PLC channel and the impulse noise affect the reliability and stability of the transmitted signal,which makes it difficult for PLC communication to be widely adopted by the smart grid.Therefore,how to improve the stability and reliability of the PLC network has become an urgent problem to be solved.An effective solution is to install relays in power line communication systems to improve communication reliability.This paper focuses on the design and performance analysis of the relay system in the power line system,and has achieved the following results:(1)For the lack of unified simulation model in the research of PLC relay system,by researching the characteristics of smart home in the smart grid,a relay-based PLC network is designed.With the channel capacity as an indicator,the installation location of the relay in the home PLC network is optimized.The simulation results show that the channel capacity of the PLC network is optimal when the relay is located at the main control of the receiving end.(2)Aiming at the problem of low forwarding efficiency in multi-relay cooperation in PLC system,a PLC opportunity relay model based on decoding and forwarding is proposed,that is,optimal relay forwarding information is selected in each time slot.In order to analyze the performance of the system,the PLC channel is modeled by lognormal fading under Bernoulli-Gaussian noise.Based on the channel model,the average symbol error rate of the PLC opportunity relay system is derived.The simulation results show that the PLC opportunity relay system has a lower symbol error rate.(3)Aiming at the problem that PLC relay channel fading is serious and performance needs to be improved urgently,a PLC relay system based on signal space diversity(SSD)is proposed.The performance of the lognormal fading channel under Bernoulli-Gaussian noise is analyzed.The simulation results show that the PLC system based on SSD technology has higher transmission reliability.Finally,the paper summarizes the work and shortcomings of the full text,and discusses and prospects the subsequent research.
