China’s economic development has begun to enter the "new normality",since2008,due to the impact of the global financial crisis and the stagnation of global trade development.The domestic market is shrinking and overcapacity,the water transport construction industry is deeply rooted in overseas markets and seeking new development.In 2013,the 21 st Century Maritime Silk Road became an important development strategy for China.However,the lack of infrastructure construction along the route has seriously restricted the implementation of the strategy,and the demand for port construction along the route has increased rapidly.The lack of core competitiveness has led to the lack of competitiveness of China’s water transport construction enterprises in overseas project competition.So predicting the economic development trend and making advancing layout in the suitable country has become an important means for China’s water transport construction enterprises to obtain overseas projects.Since the 21 st century,the port has entered the fourth-generation port stage through the Integrated and cluster development of the “port city”.Compared with the third-generation port,it has more trade and economic attributes.Therefore,different from previous generations of port location research,only the port facilities,location,and natural conditions were studied.The fourth generation of port location research also needs to consider macroeconomic factors such as economic development trends and multilateral trade.Under this background,this thesis takes the Southeast Asian section of the Maritime Silk Road as an example to study the location selection of the fourth-generation international port overseas.It will help of the water transport industry design institute to strengthen the site selection analysis capability,improve the capability in preliminary planning of the water operation industry design institute,and help them to transform and upgrade;It can help water transport construction enterprises to judge the trend of foreign port construction,lay out overseas markets in advance,and seize market share;It is of great theoretical and practical significance to improve the rationality of the location of overseas hub ports,improve shipping efficiency,and help reduce the cost of enterprise in overseas trade and promoting the transformation of the domestic economy.This thesis first summarizes the research results of many scholars in the location optimization and location selection of infrastructure such as ports,and summarizes thecurrent trends and existing problems in the study of location optimization and infrastructure site selection.Then,based on the result of researches done by predecessors,the thesis summarizes the characteristics such as too many objects,the poor data availability,the special influence of political factors and analytical model is too subjective in the study in location selection of overseas ports.Subsequently,this thesis combs the history of port development and the development process between different generations,and summarizes the characteristics and attributes of the fourth generation of ports.Then,in response to the characteristics above,this thesis proposes the site selection process from macro site selection to micro site selection,in order to reduce the cross-impact between research subjects and impact factors,reducing the difficulty of global analysis.In order to deal with the intergenerational evolution of the port and the growing economic characteristics of the fourth generation of ports,the thesis draw on the concept of the gravity model of trade,improve the center-of-gravity method and establish a new macro site location model.Aiming at the singularity of “GDP” in the trade gravity model,this thesis introduces the value of TQ(trade quality)what calculated by the comprehensive calculation of spss22.0factor analysis based on a series of economic factors to replace the “GDP” and improve the global analysis ability of new macro location model of Trade.At the same time,the BP neural network model is selected as the micro-site selection model,thereby improving the objectivity of the micro-site selection.Then take the empirical test of the Southeast Asian section of the Maritime Silk Road as an example,and conclude that it is suitable for China to invest fourth-generation international port in Chattogram Port and Kyaukpyu Port are suitable for China’s investment in the construction of the fourth-generation international port,which is consistent with China’s investment strategy and proves that the research of location selection has certain rationality.Finally,summarize the research achievements of this thesis and put forward the research direction of further improvement.
