The Clinical Observation Of Berberine In The Treatment Of Chronic Glomerulonephritis With Internal Accumulation Of Damp-heat

Objective: Through clinical observation system,on the basis of integrated treatment,comparison of berberine and irbesartan in improving the clinical symptoms of patients with chronic glomerulonephritis,UP24 h,IL-6,C3,for definite whether berberine can control proteinuria and protect kidney function.Method: The 60 patients with chronic glomerulonephritis(western medicine diag nos-tic criteria and TCM syndrome type of damp)were recruited from the Dep artment of nephrology outpatient in the first affiliated hospital of human univer sity of Chinese medicine.Sixty.patients were divided into treatment group(n =30,berberine)and control group(n = 30,Irbesartan)randomly.8 weeks for a course of treatment.The changes of symptoms,signs and clinical biochemical i ndexes were observed before and after treatment.Result:1.The total effective rate of berberine treatment group was 90%,and the total effective rate of the Irbesartan Tablets control group was 80%.The total efficiency of the two groups was compared,and the difference was significant(P<0.01).2.The total score of the treatment group was significantly better than the control group in TCM symptoms(p< 0.01),especially in the aspects:body weight drowsiness,dry mouth,nausea,vomiting,abdominal distention,diarrhea.3.The two groups could improve the quantity of 24 h urine protein,C3,induce the level of IL-6(p<0.05).The therapeutic effect of the treatment group was better than that of the control group(p<0.01).Conclusion: Berberine and Irbesartan can improve the 24 h urinary protein quantitation,IL-6 level and complement C3 level in patients with chronic nephritis and dampness heat accumulation syndrome,but berberine is more obvious in improving clinical symptoms,signs,laboratory biochemical indicators,and the quality of life of patients is higher.Berberine is the main active Chinese medicine Coptis ingredients,more recent studies show that berberine has anti-inflammatory,hypoglycemic,lipid-lowering effect markedly improve vascular conditions,the digestive system disease,diabetic nephropathy,cardiovascular disease,cancer and other aspects,in guiding the common theory of modern medicine "intestinal renal axis" research,the Chinese medicine "kidney is the headspring of innate,the spleen is the headspring of nurturance",the clinical application of berberine in the treatment of chronic nephritis activity and showed good effect,it is worthy of further clinical research and promotion into the cell molecular.
