Background:Mycosis fungoides is the most common type of cutaneous T-cell lymphoma, and its tissue is characterized by atypical CD4+T lymphocyte proliferation. To date, there are few reports in the literature on the clinical progression and prognosis evaluation of the disease by using molecular markers for mycosis fungoides. Objective:To investigate the expression of cell adhesion molecule 1(CADM1)and T lymphoma invasion and metastasis factor 1(Tiam1)in mycosis fungoides, and to know the relationship between the expression level and the clinical stage of mycosis fungoides. Methods:Immunohistochemical method is used to detect the expression of CADM1 and Tiaml in 30 cases of mycosis fungoides(10 cases with erythema stage,10 cases with plaque stage, and 10 cases with tumor stage),10 cases of psoriasis vulgaris(control group with inflammatory dermatosis)and 10 cases of normal skin tissue(normal control group). The relationship between the expression levels of CADM1 and Tiaml and the clinical stage of mycosis fungoides is analyzed, and the relationship of expression level between CADM1 and Tiaml is also explained. Results:The expression level of CADM1 in mycosis fungoides is higher than that in the inflammatory dermatosis and normal skin control group(P<0.05),and it has a negative correlation with the progression of the clinical stage of mycosis fungoides(P<0.05).There is no statistical correlation between the expression level of CADM1 and the age, gender, and disease duration. This study shows a negative expression of CADM1 in both inflammatory dermatosis and normal skin tissues. The expression level of Tiaml in mycosis fungoides is higher than that of the inflammatory dermatosis and the normal skin control group(P<0.05),and it is correlated with the patient's gender(P<0.05).Its expression is not related to the age, disease duration and clinical stage.Tiaml is negative in both inflammatory dermatosis and the normal skin.In addition, this study shows there is no statistically significant between CADM1 and Tiaml.Conclusion:CADM1 and Tiaml can be used to identify mycosis fungoides and inflammatory dermatosis.Changes in CADM1 expression levels may serve as an indicator of progression and prognosis of mycosis fungoides.
