Purpose:To investigate the correlation between the geometric shape of middle cerebral artery(MCA)and the formation of aneurysms with the formation of MCA aneurysms.Materials and Methods:A retrospective analysis was made of 122 cases of MCA aneurysms in Hunan Brain Hospital from January 2014 to February 2019(including 30 cases in proximal aneurysm group,70 cases in bifurcated aneurysm group and 22 cases in distal aneurysm group)and 50 cases of non-aneurysm patients(control group) who underwent head CTA examination.The angle between the MCA and the ipsilateral carotid artery(?)and the angle between the MCA and the ipsilateral anterior cerebral artery(?)were measured respectively in the aneurysm group and the control group;First measured the diameter of bifurcation vessel and daughter arterys(DA)in their initial segment,the branch angles(BA,expressed as ?1 and ?2)and the angles between them(?3).Then DA ratio and BA ratio were calculated.Results:There was no significant difference in ? and ? between the proximal aneurysm group and the control group(P > 0.05).There were significant differences in the ratio of ?1,?2,?3,bifurcation diameter and angle between the two branches between the bifurcation aneurysm group and the control group(P < 0.05),while there were no significant differences in the ratio of ?,? and bifurcation diameter(P > 0.05).There was significant difference in ? between distal aneurysm group and control group(P < 0.05),while there was no significant difference in alpha(P > 0.05).The area under the curve of the distal aneurysm group ?,branched aneurysmgroup ? 1 ?? 2,? 3 and diameter of branched aneurysms was greater than 0.7.The area under curve of bifurcation aneurysm group angle ratio of two branches was 0.686.When ? =113.50°,the sensitivity and specificity were the highest.Conclusion:MCA aneurysm is related to its geometry,and can objectively evaluate the risk of aneurysm formation.
